8/16 - Our friend “Scarlet” puts on a show ... Skies were clear and sunny and a light breeze picked up every so often which made for an ideal day on the Santa Barbara Channel. Sightings for the day included: 8* humpback whales and 900 long-beaked common dolphins. Captain Dave took the Condor Express into the mouth of the world-famous Painted Cave on Santa Cruz Island as a bonus.

8/14 - 7 humpback whales and 1,000 dolphins ... Sightings included 7* humpback whales and over 1,000 long-beaked common dolphins. It was overcast in the morning and the skies turned sunny by late morning. A very light breeze wafted across the decks of the Condor Express in the afternoon.
Dolphins located the boat Captain Eric took us past Platform Holly, and they were located in hot spots thereafter. A large hot spot was located in The Lanes adjacent to the eastern end of Santa Rosa Island. Here we saw sea birds (mostly shearwaters), California sea lions, dolphins, and whales.
